Old Age Home – Namco – National Mother and Child welfare Organisation

Compassion, Care and Support: For people who are already victims of poverty and social issues, need immediate care and attention to overcome the trauma and survive. They need the compassion of fellow human beings. They need someone who can be with them to heal their pains. NAMCO has been in the service of extending such support to the elderly and the orphaned children.

Old age home – NAMCO has been running a home for the elderly in Nagapattinam town since the year 1999 -2000. The home is supported by the Ministry of Social Justice, Government of India. The home has 25 inmates, who are senior citizens abandoned by their families. NAMCO is striving to give them the best care and make their lives meaningful.
Integrated home for senior citizen and destitute children – The Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu introduced a new concept of housing both the destitute elderly and children together in the same home. The idea is that the elderly can take care of the children as they would care their grand-children, and the children would have psychological bonding and affection with the elderly as they would do so with their own grand-parents. The home is run by NAMCO since 2012 -13 in Nagapattinam town. It has 25 elders and 25 destitute children.
